ABOUT THIS IMAGE - JOE MONDELLO
Having often felt alone in a crowd, I notice and photograph people who at some point in their day separate from the crowd and take a moment for personal reflection.
I recognize in them that which resonates in me.
On this occasion, a pensive young boy takes such a moment to look toward the sun setting beyond the Lower Manhattan Skyline from the Staten Island Ferry – while hundreds of other passengers disembark just out of frame.
ABOUT THIS QUOTATION - DOUG ROSS
This insight came to me when I was a stop light at the intersection of Belair and Hereford Farm roads in Evans, Georgia.
As I was looking out at the world around me, I suddenly became aware of the intelligence and presence of the energy behind everything.
I felt as if I was looking at life and Life itself was looking at me.
I knew in this brief "ah-ha" moment that although I was new to life, Life itself had been around forever.
